Service Projects

Students of all ages will have opportunities several times a year to participate in service projects. This is yet another way that members and friends can become involved with the RE program. The projects will be planned for times (e.g., Saturdays, Sunday afternoons, during the annual holiday party, and during class time) that are feasible for both the students and the entities with whom they will be working. Past service projects have included:

  • serving a meal at the Nashville Mission
  • hosting an ice cream social for Safe Haven Shelter families
  • making Valentine’s and Easter cards for our senior members and friends
  • making Hanukah/Christmas gifts for our senior members and friends
  • packing lunches for Room in the Inn
  • hosting a Room in the Inn weekend
  • attending the annual Homeless Memorial service

We like to involve the students in choosing what they will do as we have found that this leads to great enthusiasm on all sides.
