Leaders of the RE Program

Director of Religious Education

Our Religious Education Program is staffed with a Director of Religious Education (DRE), Marguerite Mills, who works with volunteers to plan and teach classes, choose curricula, stock supplies, coordinate service projects, plan social activities, and participate in Sunday worship services.

Religious Education Committee

This group of dedicated volunteers works closely with the DRE to develop policy, philosophy, and programming related to the Sunday morning religious education classes for preschoolers (4 year olds) through high school students. The Committee also plans and implements social and community-building events for the children. Feel free to contact any of the individuals listed below if you have any questions or concerns about religious education at First Unitarian Universalist Church.

The RE Committee is made up of:

  • Bettie Kirkland, co-chair
  • Nikki Moore, co-chair
  • Laura Bigbee-Fott
  • Janie Cain
  • Andrew Cameron
  • Susan Davis
  • Kyle Elias
  • Mary Helen Law
  • Joan Moore
  • Jennifer Wilson

Teachers

We would literally have no religious education program if it were not for our dedicated volunteer teachers. These women and men are the ones ultimately responsible for helping our kids develop a solid religious foundation. We dedicate this year and every year to them.
