Coming of Age (COA)

This program is offered every other year, alternating with Our Whole Lives. It will be offered during this 2007/2008 academic year. Youth in the 9th and 10th grades will be eligible to participate.

Coming of Age is the Unitarian Universalist equivalent of a vision quest, or a bar or bat mitzvah, or a confirmation. We mark this transition from child to young adult with a year-long program that includes discussions and retreats that emphasize self-awareness and confidence-building; service to the church and community; and a culminating affirmation ceremony where the participants share the personal credos they have developed with the congregation.
