The Committee on Ministry

Our bylaws call for a Committee on Ministry that is mutually agreed upon by the Board and the settled minister, each person serving a two year term. Their purpose is to promote effective ministry in the congregation and to assist the congregation in understanding and evaluating the nature and scope of the work of the minister. Last year, during Gail Seavey's first year as our called minister, they assisted in developing the covenant between the Board, the minister and the congregation. They give her feedback as she develops her yearly goals so that they help the congregation fulfill our stated mission, covenant and vision. They are available to the Rev. Seavey for job-related counsel and work with her on professional development needs. It aids the Committee on Ministry to have ongoing feedback from all church members concerning the church's ministry in general and the Rev. Seavey's ministry specifically.
